 I could understand wanting to learn a song on an electric guitar or an acoustic but bass is way more fun when you make up your own stuff.

ya I was thinking about getting a base guitar for fun but havn't really put that thought into action. And ya it is alot easier to improvise on a base guitar, making your won tabs on a electric is so much harder than a 4 stringed base

well ultimate-guitar.com is what I use for the acoustic guitar. But, never say that a bass guitar is easier than any other guitar, you have to have some agile fingers because I played in a ska band which was on of the most fun but most challenging things I have ever done ha. Your fingers must move fast while keeping a steady beat unlike some guitar songs.
