Re: Admin Mode. Could i not bind a key to "say /adminmode" or suchlike?
Damn your intelligent filtering. It should say in chat "<Name> has entered admin mode" in a very noticeable manner each time an admin enters the mode, so it is clear when it is being overused. Also, due to the increasing amount of noclip abuse due to regular admins, should that be removed alltogether? Another issue concerning the admin mode, would it be possible to include a spectate mode where we can watch through the eyes of other players/admins, to catch rulebreaking without being physically present. I know we could follow them in this observer mode but it wont show us exactly what they are experiencing. -KiZai Last Edit: June 14, 2009, 03:57:53 PM by KiZai __________________ ![]() |

Re: Admin Mode. Admins are normal players until they use /admin to toggle admin mode. I can easily make noclipping superadmin only, and an observer mode should be easy enough. I could also make it so that you can noclip if you have a certain flag, say 'n', so that trusted admins/mods could have access to it.By normal player, I mean, they are normal players. They have none of the advantages that admins currently get. They can't physgun cars/other people's props/players, they can't see who owns contraband/breaches etc, they can't noclip, they can't spawn things and they don't show up as admins on the scoreboard. When they toggle admin, the situation is reversed. It is announced to all players that the admin has entered admin mode. All normal cider functions are turned off for the admin: no hunger/stamina/flashlight/pay/use of items, and they become impervious to damage and can't deal any damage. During this time, they are clearly marked as admins - both on the scoreboard and visually in-game - and are invisible while noclipping. They can see who spawned/owns everything (doors/contra/items/breaches/notes etc). An /adminrequest will send a message to all admins in admin mode, and if none are on will notify all admins that are lurking. This will prevent casual abuse, as all abusable functions will be unavailable until the admin switches to an unabusable mode. This will apply to mods/superadmins too, I just couldn't be bothered to type that all out. (A thought, maybe a /iwanttoabusedamnit command for superadmins? )Also, the command /m will allow admin chatter that mods and above can see and send. /a will allow admin chatter that admins and above can see/send /s will allow admin chatter that only superadmins can see/send. Or you could just demote any admin that is known to abuse it. |

Re: Admin Mode. I like the 'n' access idea, so it is not taken from the majority who do not abuse. I assume it will work as 'pet' access does currently.
