Change of raid and/or hostaging rules.

Hello fellow VM players ..


I suppose everyone have noticed that raids and hostaging is getting out of hand, and it's rare to see less than 5 mayors on 30 minutes. Personally i think it ruin the roleplay on the server, and yes, i know it's light rp, but as it is now, it's not RP at all. It's kill or get killed.

You can't walk on the street, or if anyone comes up to you and askes if you can help him with somthing, it's 50/50 or even less chance that he actually wanna do soe fun - passive roleplay with you, he most likely want your money and is going to hostage you. So personally when somone asks me if i wanna help him with somthing, i start to run!

I think that's ruining the RP we had on the server, and i want it back!

I know in the upcomming update, the weapon prices will raise quite a bit, but that won't stop raiding, and specially won't stop hostaging!

So i suggest that we change the rules on hostaging and raiding, for the better.

A few of my suggestions is:

Make a max hostaging/raiding limit pr day per person, it will be hard to keep track on, but atleast it's a start.

Another rule could be that you can't hostage for money, as it's a soirce of income to alot of people, and i think is not okay to do hostaging for a living, noone dose that but some gullirias in the jungle?

Please discuss and suggest other rules the could be implanted to prevent the current situration

Do you have to raid to have fun?

In that case you should try following games:

WoW
Rainbow six vegas 1&2
CS:S

ask the other, i pretty much never raid, let alone kill.
i don't hostage either, or at least pretty much never.

so the problem is not exactly whether it's fun or not, it's whether others give a shit or not about other's fun.

Well the thing is:

Get experienced roleplayers as a hossie.

I have had fun hossieing people like Mexxo(New player, experienced roleplayer), Jonis, Jotada,  Yuskorov, JM42  and Tango.

Bassically what I am saying, Despite being friends with your friends in rea llife. It doesnt hurt to hossie them in game. Roleplayed well adds alot of fun.

I understand that there are many newbys to the server, even minges, that rdm frequently, but the key is to find those roleplaying, stalk them, and snatch them. Thats how I do, I sometimes stand in bank, to see who roleplays or not. I try to kidnap those roleplayers later on.

I have seen you complain about being hossied for 2000 dolalrs.

That is nothign compared to what some do.

2000 dollars is not much at all.

If you want to actually profit on money ,start  a shop... dont just  stand there doing nothing, or randmly running around.

Also, A mayor, which I consider doing good, gets the mob angry at him(the undergrounds.) That is what often happens because you dont order your cops, let alone demote your cops if they do not follow your orders...

Remember: It goes like this: Commander orders cops: You can deny that order. If you have 10 officers, get two to stay with you, or guard you,

Never ever accepts people as guests without confirming who he is. If he isnt a metagamer, he will be searched for weaponry, and will not be able to kill you. Also, Request a door to be made at the hall way towards the lift, keep garage door always close, and only give out code in secure places.

A limit on hostaging people will RUIN hostaging...

I really dont see your point in that. I really think since you complain about 2000 dollars, ( it isnt much, believe me..)  this game istn for you.

I don't complain about 2k, i complain about it beeing imposseble to walk into sombodys house to help them with anything or so (as in ROLE PLAYING) whitout getting hostaged..

When you don't get what this game is about, i don't think it's a game for you, go play monopoly if you wanna make cash, and play CS:S if you wanna kill people please ..

Hostageing ruins all kinds of passive RP.

You just disagreed with your point of limiting hostaging...

There is a thing called locking the door, and be armed... Its a bloody game, If you like passive roleplay, go find a text based roleplay or something, because it is light RP, and light RP will stay like this..

No he didn't, The rule is there to ruin the hostaging, and stop minges from over-doing it.

Well, you inserted the quote after my reply, and really, why is it so damn fun to hostage others? what about buying a game which actually is about hostaging people? And as you are a newcommer, you don't know how it was before, it was - funny enough still light RP, but there was alot more passive roleplay back then, but please, don't change the topic, i wan't people to discuss what we can do to change the current situartion, not to hear why it shouldent change.

We cant express our opinion for keeping it like this?
