Taxes and interest rates, used by the goverment

Well, since the server has gone to Semi-serious and I think there's door taxes (I don't own doors really :/), why not taxes in general?

Maybe it's a Serious RP server idea, I don't know, but anyway here it goes:

Taxes, paid by all except Mayor (Benefits of been a mayor) and Gang leaders (I dont imagine a Gang Leader paying his ''house tax'').

The idea is simple:

You get taxed for having a Car say 10,000 of the price it originally cost, so a trabbie would cost 2$ (Lets not worry about the 0'5) and a silver corvette 60$. That's for everytime you get your salary.

Also you get taxed as everyone else gets taxed these days. The tax rate can be modefied by the Mayor (Increses his popularity or makes people riot and vote him off). Say you get taxed 10% of your salary (You get 200$ salary, then pay 20$).

Now, the point of this is ''Ok you get taxed and the money dissapears...'' No. The money would be in the City's account, and would be used as the Mayor decides. Say you have 40 tax payers wich each pay say 30$, thats 40x30=1200$, wich might not seem as much but in 10 salaries its 12,000$. The money would be used as the Mayor orders to wich right now would be done for buying police equiptment and paying them, (The quartermaster would do this) such as glocks. The guns would be stored in a ''safe'' and can only be handed by the mayor. (The weapons can only be used by the police, and cannot be holstered, like in the version before).

Interest:

When you buy today, you pay interest for it. Say here in spain, it's 17%, so If you buy something that's 1$, and it hasnt got the VAT included, it would be 1'17€. So I suggest, for expample, putting a 10% of the cost of the gun (AK 22,000, wich would be 2,000) To go towards the goverment fund.

If the goverment goes bust, then Police and goverment officials get their salaryes discounted proportionally until positive amount of money is in the Goverment fund.



Maybe its a bit messy for codding and too much serious RP... But since it's Semi-serious, the goverment pays for officials and their equipment...

I love the idea!

As long as you don't take the UK amounts (40% tax and 25% interest is the last I heard (I'm out of a job, my dad pays 40% income tax though)) then it would be cool.

Maybe, but only with a VERY strictly controlled and monitored  whitelist for the officials. If any old person goes Mayor and suddenly has the money of 64 people at his command, I highly doubt he won't abuse it.

Lol, soon they mayor will be the most heavy armed person in evo city.
