How to get your steam ID with pictures!

First off your steam id is a unique id that's assigned to EVERYONE that owns a source game it's a rather good way to ban people because unlike your name and other details it cannot be changed!



2. Double click on garrys mod or another source engine game and press the console button it could be the one next to 1, if the console does not come up go to options then the keyboard tab, click advanced options then click the box next to enable developers console.



3. Then create a mulitiplayer game. (Do i really need a SS for this bit?)

4. Wait?

5. When in the game click the console button(if you do not know just press buttons from top to bottom).

6. You got your console up hooray, then type in status you should notice that some writing has come up this information contains how many people are on the server there steam name and steam ID



7. You can now use Your steam ID for donating or whatever.

Well.... this is quite a sexyful guide.

I have done this all the time the hard way... To the launch options -console.

Some people can't open the console from in the game, including me. Probably because we don't have English keyboards. If this applies to you then do this:

Open your games list in steam, right click on Garry's Mod and click Properties.


Once inside properties click the button named Set launch options.


A box will open up, write -console in it.


Press OK, launch the game and you should have the console in the menu (or if you press escape while in a game).

I added another way...

Step 1: Login to steamcommunity.com


Step 2: Highlight and copy your profile id. This can be found by clicking "view my profile" or just by going to your control panel. If you have a custom URL with a custom ID that might say something like "superhotvent" or "themob" then high light that.


Step 3: Go to steamcalculator.com and paste your steam id.


Step 4: Press go. If your name is correct copy the steam id and use it on whatever you want.
