kontrëbond
drug labs would be abolished and some other form of money printer created. (Perhaps the drug labs could later produce weed in small amounts when the drugs mod is finally done, say about 10% of the yeild of normal weed production, via the same method of this.)It's a coming, but I think we need more, so here is where you make any and all suggestions for new contraband. Doesn't matter if, say for instance I already said it was a pile of shit, suggest it again.
Money printers become containers that can only store money. Money can be removed and money can be placed in, in varying amounts, with a limit of say $500 in each printer. Every contra time, $70 would be placed into the printer's inventory, regardless of how much is already in there. Any money that goes over the $500 limit would be lost. If any money overflows, the printer will instantly jam and will need to be completely emptied before it will start printing again.
If a printer is destroyed it explodes damaging everything near it but does not give any money. The only safe way to destroy a printer is from the other side of the room. printers will not set each other off.
This way, when raiding bases, destroying contra is a counteractive activity, as it'll make an explosion loud enough that half the city can hear it. What you can do though is to wait until the printer jams then remove $499 so the guy is left with $1 when he returns home.
You can also skiv $20 off every transaction if you're looking after a lot of people's printers :3
It has to follow these guidelines.an example:
- It works like this:
- 10: PURCHASE CONTRABAND
- 20: OPTIONALLY DO SOMETHING LIKE PLACE BATTERIES IN THE CONTRABAND'S INVENTORY
- 30: WAIT
- 40: WAIT
- 50: SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THE CONTRABAND'S INVENTORY, LIKE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY GOING UP OR BATTERIES BEING EATEN
- 60: OPTIONALLY, SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS TOO LIKE A CHINESE MAN'S CORPSE APPEARING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR
- 70: GOTO 20
- All actions regarding the contraband are inventory based (putting in/taking stuff away) so you have to have a supply of batteries to power it rather than pressing 'use 2 refil' etc
- You are penalised if you ignore it ie the inventory is full and it jams or it runs out of batteries and stops working or it runs out of oil and the cogs rip themselves apart and you have to buy a new one
- Any effects it has can be felt by anyone, so someone with key access or a lockpick could open it and take out the money, or anyone near it stops feeling hungry or whoever is closest to it when the flux capacitor is fully charged gets 200HP and is set on fire or whatever
- Any items that the contraband requires like batteries, infected rye, oil, small children etc must have a secondary purpose. For example: batteries give you extra flashlight, infected rye poisons you, oil makes you bleed internally, small children cover you in jam etc
- There is no benefits to destroying the contraband, other than making it so the owner can't use it
- The contraband's effects must not damage the server's economy/wellbeing, such as a box you put beans into and out comes tranqs or a machine that constantly churns out $200000 notes at a rate of 1 per minute.
- Be inventive. Have some kind of a twist to it that isn't just farming.
- Be sensible
- the contraband doesn't have to be illegal (making it not exactly contraband)
A cash register. Money can be put in, and every pay day you get 10% interest. If the amount of money in the cash register exceeds the inventory limit of say $500 on payday, the cash register 'bursts open', with the visible result of the register being unlocked so anyone can reach in and remove as much as they want. This item is legal.
EDIT: Example 2:
A drop box. Anyone can put money in, but money can only be taken out when it is unlocked. Used for fundrasing and such, or for your organisation's contraband farm where you have huge racks of printers each belonging to different people, and The Keeper Of The Drugs goes around removing money from them as it becomes available and drops it into the box below. The owner can them come and retrieve money as applicable.
Your serve, gentlemen.
